Administration & Monitoring of Local Infiltration Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide Analgesia
Didactic (Online) Component: Nitrous Oxide Analgesia and Local Infiltration Anesthesia: March 11th, 2019 - May 24th, 2019.
Clinical Component: Administration of Local Infiltration Analgesia and Nitrous Oxide Analgesia: June 7th - June 9th, 2019, at MCC's main campus, 1000 East Henrietta Road, Rochester NY 14623.
You must have and provide a copy of current CPR certification and NYS dental hygiene license to participate in this class.
You must complete all scheduled assignments of the didactic (online) component as posted by your instructor. (Failure to meet deadlines will result in an incomplete didactic portion of the program and will prevent the participant from attending the clinical sessions, forfeiting any fees paid.)
You must attend all 15 hours of clinical instruction. You will be required to administer and receive nitrous oxide analgesia and local infiltration anesthesia. (If you have a medical condition that might prevent this, please contact your doctor for clearance before registering for this course.)
After registration is complete, the Office of Workforce Development will send you a confirmation e-mail with textbook requirements and logistical information. You will also receive a separate e-mail 3 weeks prior to course start date with information on how to access your MCC network account and online course. (If you do not receive this by February 25, 2019, please call our office.)
If you are at least 17 years of age, a NYS registered dental hygienist, underemployed, or unemployed you may qualify for a tuition scholarship for this program. Eligibility requirements: 1) you must live or work in the nine-county Finger Lakes Region. 2) If you are employed as a dental hygienist, your current annual base salary cannot exceed $52,000. 3) You must provide a written statement from your employer guaranteeing there will be a salary increase upon successful completion of this course.
