Administration & Monitoring of Local Infiltration Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide Analgesia

Course Requirements: Didactic (Online) Component: Nitrous Oxide Analgesia and Local Infiltration Anesthesia: March 14, 2022 - May 20, 2022

Clinical and Laboratory Component: (delivered on campus) June 3-5, 2022 (see registration confirmation for your clinical dates & times), at: Monroe Community College, 1000 East Henrietta Road, Dental Clinic - Bldg. 7-201, Rochester NY 14623.

You must submit proof of a COVID-19 vaccination series, plus a booster shot (when eligible).  Please submit a copy of your vaccination card via email at: or deliver in-person to MCC Economic & Workforce Development Center at MCC Downtown Campus, 321 State Street, Rochester NY, 14608.

In addition to being fully vaccinated, all students participating in clinical are required to provide proof of a negative COVID test, administered no more than 5 days before the start of class. Self-administered test results will not be accepted; testing should be conducted through an official tester.

Note: Students who are not fully vaccinated, including a COVID-19 booster shot (when eligible), will not be allowed to participate in clinical and WILL NOT RECEIVE A REFUND.

You must have and provide a copy of current CPR certification and NYS dental hygiene license to participate in this class.

You must complete all scheduled assignments of the didactic (online) component as posted by your instructor. (Failure to meet deadlines will result in an incomplete didactic portion of the program and will prevent the participant from attending the clinical sessions, forfeiting any fees paid.)

You must attend all 15 hours of clinical instruction. You will be required to administer and receive nitrous oxide analgesia and local infiltration anesthesia. (If you have a medical condition that might prevent this, please contact your doctor for clearance before registering for this course.)

After registration is complete, the Office of Workforce Development will send you a confirmation e-mail with textbook requirements and logistical information.

You will also receive a separate e-mail 2 weeks prior to course start date with information on how to access your MCC network account and online course.(If you do not receive this by October 4th, please call our office.)
