Web Design & Development I - Web UI Development & Design

4/19/2021 - 6/2/2021    6:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Web developers are some of the most sought-after internet professionals by tech giants and start-ups alike. Web Developers and Designers create all of the visual interface of a website that customers and users interact with as they browse online, whether it is on a mobile device or a desktop computer. They're also responsible for the overall user experience, device compatibility and speed of the websites.

In this course, you will learn the basic tools that every web page coder needs to know: HTML5, CSS3, SVG and the DOM. You will be introduced to Javascript and gain familiarity with web development tools such as: a Text Editor like VSCode, git version control, github, web browsers and their dev tools, accessibility validators and more. You'll also become familiar with modern best practices for authoring websites with good UI and UX principles that also meet today's Web Standards. We'll code up a resume, a card gallery, presentation slides and a portfolio site and then we'll learn how to deploy them online so you can show off your new skills to anyone by sharing a link.

Web Design & Development I is the first of 3 stand-alone courses that together will allow you to master the range of technologies used to develop high quality web sites that work seamlessly on mobile, tablet, and larger screen browsers.
